Sandi sez: If you were a fan of my scrapbooking TV show then you are going to be excited about my news…Kristy McMichael Bruce, who was the executive producer of my show, is joining us on the Scrapbook Showgram!
Kristy became intrigued with scrapbooking when she won the best scrapbook in her college sorority and has been hooked ever since. The idea to dedicate a TV show to scrapbooking was Kristy’s and when DIY hired me to host the show, the two of us met and have been great friends ever since.
Kristy worked at Scripps (the parent of DIY, HGTV and Food networks) for 15 years where she developed and executive produced several craft shows, including mine (DIY Scrapbooking). She retired from Scripps when she had her third child in 2006, making her the mom of 3 kids (Jake, Sam and Katelyn).
Kristy and her husband Brian and their children live in Knoxville, Tennessee and here she shares her blogs and spectacular scrapbooking pages…boy are you in for a treat!

Milestone Scrapbooks

Hi this is Clarissa, I have a question? I’m looking for a photoshop program, but it needs to be simple and easy which can reduce picture size to large and small. Read the reviews on Adobe Photoshop Element 11 and got scared.
Hope you can help.
Many thanks
Clarissa
I don’t know if you ever got an answer to your question. But, I have been using a program already on my computer – Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It is very easy to use and you can adjust the features of your photos, crop the photo, and shrink the pixels (is that the right word?)so that you can make the picture the right size to post on a blog page or where ever.

Sandi ~ do you have any suggestions about using material (cloth) on scraobbook layouts? I have several scrap pieces and since I do not quilt, I thought perhaps there might be some clever/useful (whatever!)way to use them on my layouts!! Any and all ideas are GREATLY appreciated!!
Kristin, have you tried creating torn strips as accent borders or small square patchwork designs? Fabric is a fun 3D element that can be attached to your page with colorful staples or decorative sewing stitches.
Kristy, I enjoy reading blogs written by both you and Sandi. Just love your subject scrapbooks. As we prepare for an early Fall 50th class reunion, I’m considering preparing scrapbook-style booklets to be distributed to my classmates the evening of the reunion. Do you have any ideas to help me out?
Thanks,
Karin
Have you considered digital scrapbooking. I just finished a project with multiple scrapbooks needed and created them on-line and had them printed. It worked out perfect!
For the Grandparent Journal:
If the older generation is gone, answer as many questions as possible in collaboration with the family members remaining. It is still a wonderful remembrance, and you will be surprised by how many memories can be included! It is also a good idea to start your own journal – it will take a lot less time to complete when you are older!! LOL! This prompted us to start a “Memory” album for the generations before us, which we will have completed by our next reunion in 18 monthsrs. Thanks for the idea!!
oops – I mean months….
Great idea!!! Thanks for sharing Jan.

Kristy, I love the idea of a learning scrapbook. It will be a few years before I can begin this with my grandson but, believe me, we will be using this idea as he learns his ABC’s. A great project for Grandma parents and grandkids. Thank you for shareing this with us. I am going to send this to a few of my friends who scrapbook with thier children.
