FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  I’m having trouble viewing episodes of the Showgram.  How can I fix that?
A:  We try to create the highest quality video possible for the Scrapbook Showgram, and for a few people that presents a problem.  We use the latest software and technology, and if your computer is older, has little memory, has a slow internet connection, etc. that might present some difficulties.
Here are some suggestions as to how to remedy the problem.  After each step, try again to view the Showgram to see if the problem has been solved:
1.  Close all other browser windows and also close other software programs that are running.  This will free up processing power.
2.  If you are able to see the program on the page, but it stutters, click the “PLAY” icon and then pause the video.  Return in a minute or two and a sufficient amount of the program will have downloaded for it to play smoothly.
3. On each episode in the 2nd paragraph of text below the video (it’s in green) there is a link to a lower resolution version of the program. It should load more quickly and play smoothly.
4. Try again at a later time.  We think that sometimes the show has trouble loading on Thursday evenings or Fridays because we just release the new episodes and lots of people are trying to access it.  This is especially likely if you have been able to access the videos before.

Q:  Can I watch the episodes in HD?

A:  Beginning with the December 2, 2010 episode, we are posting in HD. See the icons at the bottom of the video still frame?  After starting the video, click the HD icon to see in HD.  Also, you can click the little TV icon (between the little speaker icon and the “blip.tv” logo) to see it full screen on your computer.

Q:  I tried watching the current episode in HD and it gives me problems.  Is there solution?
A:  If you can normally play the espisode without using HD and/or full screen, you probably don’t have enough bandwidth from your internet service provider.  Just go back to non-HD mode by clicking “HD” again.  If you were trying it in full screen, hit escape on your keyboard and it will go back to the compressed version.

It is somewhat comforting to know that I am not the only one having problems viewing the project clips. My computer has 8gig memory, 720 gb hard drive, only 2 wks old, I-5 core, have accelerated internet download service, blah, blah — so I don’t think it is my equipment. This week’s episodes, as well as others, cuts in/out in the audio.

Is there anyway that you include a brief title to the project in the subject line?

    thank you

Aida, rr.com has been blocking our emails for a month or so, and will not listen to our requests to let them go through, even though our subscrbers have confirmed that they want to hear from us. Perhaps if you contacted them, it might help. Or if you have another non-rr.com email address you can use, you could hear from us that way.

this is becoming a real problem. Are you ever going to give us access to past projects? It has been months now and you have stopped even responding. There are an amazing amount of us who want to see them and are very frustrated because they are not available. If I would have known I would have printed at least the picture of the projects. Please give us an idea as to what is going on. I think We are getting frustrated!!!

Everyone has been looking for those. No one is even replying to the messages anymore. They have only said for the past 3-4 months that like a contruction site watch for further details! I am tired of waiting and since I don’t usually have the supplies around the house I have to get them and it takes some time. By the time I come back, the episode is usually gone! Sad because I am a real lover of Sandi’s creations and I just enjoy watching her work her “majic”!

Sandi, if you are watching…please get the past episodes back up for all of us!

It will have access to Past Episodes, direction sheets for the projects, and other cool stuff. We’re very sorry to cause this frustration by not responding, and do thank you for your patience. I was wondering if you supplied the password for all past episodes that do not display any longer. I really wish we could get all the past episodes. Have you thought about putting them out on Facebook or Twitter? You have so many good ideas but I have no way of recalling when I have the supplies to make them. Please help us with this dilemma. I live in a rural farm area so many of the supplies I need are in craft stores at least an hour away.
    Thanks,

it is a GBC (General Binding Co) ProClick P50 manual binding system. If you have trouble locating it, please get back to us and we will see if we can find a source for it. Good luck and thanks for watching.

Just wondering when the older projects will be available. I watch everyweek and look forward to the new project. I file it away in my head, and then when I start a project sometimes one of your projects come to mind. I didn’t realize they would not be available to use. I know you said you were working on it, but just wondering if you have a time line? It is disappointing not to be able to access them. You have great ideas, keep them coming (but it would be great to go back too!!!) They are so timeless and versatile that it is a shame not to be able to have continual access to ALL of your projects. Thanks for all you do!!!!! I love your projects.

    Hi Jim and Sandi

I’m not having any problems with new or old programs
since I got my flash drive to working. I don’t have
to put in a password either. Can’t wait for this weeks new showgram. I can’t understand the others having this problem. Most of the programs, I take notes on the measurements etc., but still go back and refer to past episodes. Thanks so much for your showgrams. I watched you on T.V. also many years.

Hi Sandi, sure glad to find your spot on the web, I sure have missed you on t.v. You gave me so many ideas , your space to scrap is great , and your desk is also. I have found I do better on a smaller desk, so I do not spend my time searching for my glue and much often needed tools! Thanks for returning .

      July 19, 2011 | 8:44 pm

      well thanks Jeannie
a few people have commented on how messy they think my desk is (it is when i am in the midst of a project) and how distracted it makes them, so it is so refreshing to have someone say something nice about my workspace. I would love to have more room, but we tape in my tiny studio where i work at my little drafting table…it is what it is and i just love that you found some good in it… Thanks!

I’ve seen the beginnings of the episodes on utube but it stops mid program and directs us to this website but I can’t find it here. I put the exact wording on the find search space, press enter and there is nothing, some times it shows a blog. How do I see the endings of previous shows shown on utube? I wish there was a complete listing on this site. Thanks, lc

All you need to do is go to the “Past Episodes” link at the top of the page, and you can access those we’ve posted. Of course, this week’s episode is under “This Week’s Episode.” If you’d like to get weekly notices of each complete episode as it’s posted, go to the right side of the page and subscribe, or become a fan of Sandi’s on Facebook. Thanks!

I had to ‘restart’ video using step 3…and find this annoying. Laptop has plenty of hard drive space and use DSL for Internet connection so I feel there is no reason to ‘stutter’. When I have to wait until it finishes buffering, I get frustrated and that’s when I consider canceling the subscription. Use YouTube!
